Ban on women

Karnataka government is putting a ban on women working after 8… is it fair?

I know the government is doing this in order to reduce the crime against women in the city. But isn’t it unfair for the women... Why women should be penalized from not working after 8. Well this is not a solution, In order to solve the problem you are just removing the problem itself. There would be no women on the roads or in the offices so no crime would happen. So why not stop men from working after 8 there would be no men so there would be no crime. But would they do that?.. No because according to them Men are the sole earning member of the family he is the one which supports a family so he is required to work late in order to earn more for the family… what about gals aren’t they an earning member. In many families only women are the ones who earns so if she wants to work more in order to earn little more for her family so why can’t she do that? It’s their wish …. If they wanna work they can it should be their choice no one should force them to do that.

Well by doing so government is violating the article 14, 16 and 19 of the constitution according to which every one is equal in the eyes of law. No one would be discriminated on the basis of caste creed SEX colour etc.. so by passing this law wouldn’t they violating these laws.????

In an interview taken by a news channel there was mixed kind of few… few people was supporting this as they were like they are just doing it to make the city more safe while some said that it the works demand so they have to work at the night time as well.

In the hotel industry where women constitute almost 50 % of their staff so wont these laws affect their business... It would also effect the employment of the women... Companies where the work permits them to work in the late night shift won’t hire women for that... So it would effect their employment….

Instead of putting it as a compulsory law government should keep it optional that if a women doesn’t want to work after 8 then she shouldn’t be forced to do that by doing that the rights of the women should also be conserved. They could increase security for the women working out late. Many companies have hired private vehicle in order to drop them home safe and sound so that should be encouraged in all such companies. By doing so they won’t be doing any discrimination against women.

hye nidhi..again i m back to torture u with my comments..;-)anwyays..thats one of my habits.i think laws are made by man.n can be changes by men of power when felt the need.again u know that problems are nothing but solutions .i mean the problem itself is solution to many other problems.so abt women in that sense we should say that all womens should be taught the art of self diffence so that they are safe.again thats a violation to men.n if we leave the rights on womens to decide over the working hours ,then there is a big loophole.the employers shall have the right to cut down the salery.see things are much more complicated then wat we think it is.if crime has to be stoped.first corruption in the managemnent has to be taken care of.first the police shold be made disciplined first the public has to be more responcibled 4 chooseing the right government and to make the govt.work effeciently.more employment opportunites has to be created.then the punishment part comes in.when govt. is itself corrupt how can it punish some oneelse.it has no rights to do so.so about the rights lets now keep these things aside till we can actually come up with some rational solutions to it.dont u think thats how things are oathto be :) may be yes maybe no.again this is my personal openion that words rite now are like sand with a splash of water they fade away. we need action.
